Sophia Evans

Sophia received her Bachelor of Physiotherapy from The University of Melbourne in 1997 and since then has worked with Neurological and Aged Care clients in variety of settings including Acute Hospital, Inpatient Rehabilitation, Community Rehabilitation and Residential care with the Transitional Care Program and at Gardenview Slow Stream Rehabilitation Acquired Brain Injury Program. Sophia has been actively involved in departmental Professional Development and Service Improvement projects and is passionate about staff education. Sophia is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association, Neurological Special Interest Group.
Amy Gillon

Amy Gillon, APA Neurological Physiotherapist, received her Bachelor of Physiotherapy from La Trobe University in 1997 and went on to complete her Masters in Neurological Physiotherapy at The University of Melbourne in 2005. She has over 15 years experience working in Neurological and Aged Care rehabilitation in both Public and Private Hospitals. As well as her clinical load, Amy always kept up to date with the latest research in rehabilitation through her roles as research co-ordinator at La Trobe University and casual tutor at The University of Melbourne. She has also been involved in research in patients with Multiple Sclerosis and stroke and has a published randomised control trial in the UK journal Clinical Rehabilitation. Amy achieved the title of APA Neurological Physiotherapist from the Australian Physiotherapy Association in 2006. She is a member of their Neurological Special interest group.
Kate O’Callaghan
Kate O’Callaghan is an Occupational Therapist who graduated from La Trobe University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy and completed her postgraduate Masters of Occupational Therapy in 2010. She has over 10 year’s clinical experience working in inpatient neurological rehabilitation at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Parkville, and 8 years working as a Lecturer in Occupational Therapy at La Trobe University in Bundoora. She has worked in community practice, in home rehabilitation, acute and sub-acute care, aged care, and amputee rehabilitation, spinal and cardiac rehabilitation. Kate has extensive experience in minor and major home modifications, personal care retraining, domestic ADL training, community mobility retraining, and ADL aid prescription. She has taught extensively in stroke rehabilitation, splint prescription and manufacturing, group facilitation, counselling, and core occupational therapy skills. Kate has been involved in research through her own lecturing, and through the supervision of honours and postgraduate master’s students. She also has extensive experience in arranging home care, hoist prescription and training, carer education, electric wheelchair prescription and training as well as pressure care management. She is an accredited and registered Occupational Therapist and now operates her own practice called South East OT.
